Project was to design a system that embodies the concept of periodicity (same pattern of events running through a higher development as has been contained in a corresponding pattern from a lower sequence).

The Light Chamber embraces two forms of periodicity - one, in the speeds of rotation and two, in the light pathways. The chamber is a rotating spiral structure affixed to a perpendicularly rotating turntable base. The rotations occur at two different speeds. A laser is attached to the spiral weaving elliptical light patterns, only seen through long exposure photography. We were inspired by the DNA helix structure as well as the periodicity of moon phases.
